  • This Host Adapter may also be ordered with a SCSI-2 External Connector, as part number 1540b100, or 1540b100.

    Starting with their v3.20 BIOS & uCODE, Adaptec added support for drives over 1 Gigabyte in size. The new code utilizes a previously reserved pin - J6(2) - for enabling this support. This will not affect drives of less than 1GB that are attached. Also added was support for peripherals which have longer start-up times, notably, some IBM drives (The 0661 Lightning Series comes to mind.)
