  • Engineering changes to the 7000 added jumpers (W98, 99, 100, 200, & 201) to increase flexibility. A fuse and LED indicator for Termination Power were also added.

    Software for the 7000 series was contracted to Columbia Data Products. The last version to ship with the hardware was SST version 3.36, though CDP continues to upgrade this and is currently shipping SST-IV, v1.1. The OEM version of the 7000, which had no software, was labeled WD7000-ASC. The Consumer version containing SST software was labeled WD7000-FASST2. The design was sold to Future Domain Corp. in 1991, and renamed the TMC-7000-FASST2.
